Family

Faruqui was raised in Junagadh in Gujarat by a poor Islamic family. His entire family is a believer in Islam. In 2002, his entire house was destroyed by the Gujarat communal riots. His mother then committed suicide shortly afterwards. His turbulent life in Junagadh led to him becoming tired and he moved to Mumbai in 2007 with his entire family to start a new life.

Early Life

Faruqui was born 28 January 1992 in Junagadh (Gujarat) to an Indian Muslim family. After his family’s home was destroyed in the 2002 Gujarati communal riots, Faruqui was 16 years old when his mother passed away. He was 17 when his father died. While he was in school, he worked in a utensil shop. He was a graphic designer in his twenties. He discovered comedy when OTT platforms began to be introduced in India in 2017.

Personal Life

Faruqui’s  home was burned during the 2002 Gujarat communal riots. His mother committed suicide when he was 16. His turbulent life in Junagadh made him tired and his father moved his family to Mumbai in 2007. Munavvar started to take an interest in standup comedy when he was just 15. His family discovered that standup comedy was his full-time occupation when people began to take selfies of him.

Lock Upp

Munawar Faruqui is a comedian, writer, and rapper who will appear on Kangana Ranaut’s new reality show Lock Upp. The actress and comedian will host. He will be the second contestant for Bigg Boss’ reality show, which is based on the Indian television series of the same title. The program will air live on ALTBalaji, MX Player and continue until the end.

Career

He uploaded a comedy video called “Dawood Yamraaj & Aurat”, which he posted on his YouTube channel in April 2020. This earned him his first stardom. In August 2020, he released “Jawab”, his first song in collaboration with an Indian musician Spectra.

Munawar Faruqui uploaded “Ghost Story”, a standup comedy video, to his YouTube Channel on February 28, 2021. He was a contestant in Kangana Ranaut’s reality TV show Lock Upp. He was named the show’s winner on 8 May 2022.
