By 2017, Chaudhary had established himself in Indian domestic cricket as a batting all-rounder, making his Twenty20 debut for Punjab in January of that year. Despite training under renowned cricketers like Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh, he did not secure a spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after unsuccessful trials with the Mumbai Indians. His fortunes changed when he found himself stranded in Brisbane during the COVID-19 pandemic.
