In March 2024, Chaudhary faced trial in the District Court of Queensland for an alleged incident of rape in his car in Townsville in 2021. Following the trial, he was acquitted of all charges. The Hobart Hurricanes stated that they had no prior knowledge of the charges until the trial commenced.

By 2017, Chaudhary had established himself in Indian domestic cricket as a batting all-rounder, making his Twenty20 debut for Punjab in January of that year. Despite training under renowned cricketers like Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh, he did not secure a spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after unsuccessful trials with the Mumbai Indians. His fortunes changed when he found himself stranded in Brisbane during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, he impressed in club cricket, notably hitting seven sixes in a crucial semi-final match.
