Early Life

He is the son of filmmakers Uppalapati Surya Narayana Raju and Siva Kumari. Prabhas is the youngest of the 3 children, Prabhas is blessed with an older brother named Prabodh and a sibling, Pragathi. He is the cousin of Telugu actor Krishnam Raju.

His family is from Mogalthur close to Bhimavaram in the West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. He received his higher studies at Nalanda College, Hyderabad. He graduated from Satyanand Film Institute, Visakhapatnam.

Prabhas began his career in the film industry in 2002 in Eshwar. He made his debut in 2003. starred playing the lead role in Raghavendra. The year 2004, when he was seen in Vardhan He continued his acting career in the film with Edavi Ramudu, and Chakram. In 2005, he portrayed S. S. Rajamouli in the film Chhatrapati in which he played an abused refugee by gangsters. The film ran for 100 consecutive days in 54 theaters.

The actor has to let go of endorsements that were not from a brand and cost around Rs. 18 crores, which was offered to him during the production of Baahubali. Film director SS Rajamouli said, “Prabhas had three consecutive hits and producers kept running after him with money but he only focused on Baahubali.”

The town from which Prabhas is from, called Bhimavaram has been featured in recent news when the residents of Bhimavaram applied for approval from the Indian Aviation Ministry to approve order to construct their airport without the need for funding from the Govt.
