Pulkit Samrat was born on December 29, 1983, and grew up in a Punjabi Hindu family in Delhi. His family has a real estate business in the city. He attended Manav Sthali School and completed his schooling at Montfort Senior Secondary School in Ashok Vihar, Delhi.

Samrat enrolled in an advertising course at the Apeejay Institute of Design in Delhi but after studying for just five months, he received a modeling assignment.

Pulkit Samrat tied the knot with his girlfriend Shweta Rohira on November 3, 2014. Rohira happens to be actor Salman Khan’s “rakhi-sister,” and Khan was involved in promoting Samrat’s debut film. However, the couple separated in November 2015. After the split, Samrat dated actress Yami Gautam for a while, but they eventually broke up as well.

Pulkit Samrat began his career as a television actor in 2006, a year after he moved to Mumbai, Maharashtra to pursue his career in the entertainment industry. He got his first break in a TV show produced by Balaji Telefilms.
