Raai Laxmi, also known by her birth name Lakshmi Rai, is an Indian actress and model who predominantly works in the Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam film industries, as well as in a few Kannada and Hindi films.

Born on May 5th, 1989 (currently 34 years old), in Belgaum, Bangalore, Karnataka, she made her acting debut at the age of 16 in the Tamil film Karka Kasadara (2005). She has since appeared in various Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi films, and made her Bollywood debut with the movie Akira in 2016.

Early Life

I apologize for the mistake in my previous response. Raai Laxmi was actually born in Belgaum, Karnataka to Ram Rai and Manjula Rai. Additionally, she belongs to the Saurashtrian Kutchi community.

Acting Career

Laxmi’s entry into the film industry happened in 2005 with the Tamil-language film Karka Kasadara, after being spotted by director R. V. Udayakumar who was impressed with her performance in the Kannada short film Valmiki. After her debut, she went on to act in several Tamil movies, including Kundakka Mandakka (2005), a comedy film alongside R. Parthiban, Perarasu’s action-packed film Dharmapuri (2006), and the romantic film Nenjai Thodu (2007).

In 2007, Raai Laxmi made her debut in Malayalam cinema with Rock & Roll, where she starred opposite Mohanlal. She then went on to appear in various successful films such as Annan Thambi, 2 Harihar Nagar (2009), Evidam Swargamanu (2009) alongside Mohanlal, and Chattambinadu (2009) with Mammootty.
