Early Life

During his childhood, Lawrence battled a brain tumor, which he believes was miraculously cured by the blessings of the deity, Raghavendra Swamy. As a symbol of his gratitude and devotion, he adopted the name, Raghava. In addition to this, he constructed the Raghavendra Swamy Brindavanam Temple at Thirumullaivayal on the Avadi-Ambattur route, which was inaugurated on January 1st, 2010.

Career

Lawrence started his career as a car cleaner for fight master Super Subbarayan. One day, while dancing, he caught the attention of Rajinikanth, who helped him join the Dancers Union. In 1989, Lawrence made his debut appearance as a dancer in the Tamil film “Samsara Sangeetham,” directed by T. Rajendran.

He continued to showcase his dance skills in the 1991 film “Donga Police,” where he performed alongside Prabhu Deva. Lawrence was also part of the background dancers in the song “Chikku Bukku Chikku Bukku Railey” in the 1993 film “Gentleman.”
