Early Life

Rajinikanth was born Shivaji Rao Gaekwad on 12 December 1950 to a Marathi family from Bangalore, Mysore State (present-day Karnataka). He was named in honor of the Maratha King of the Empire, Shivaji who was raised speaking Marathi at home, as well as Kannada outside.

Their mother of his was a domestic worker, and his father Ramoji Gaekwad was a constable in the police force. His ancestors were from Mavado Kadepathar, Pune, Maharashtra. Rajinikanth also backed the DMK-TMC alliance during the parliamentary elections held the year before. year. Later in 2004, Rajinikanth declared that he would vote personally for his party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but would not offer an endorsement to any of the fronts in the coming Indian general elections.
