He is happily married to Savitri Singh, and together they have three children. Their eldest son, Pankaj Singh, is involved in politics. Their younger son is named Neeraj Singh, and they also have a daughter named Anamika Singh, who is the youngest among the siblings.
Early Life
Rajnath Singh was born into a Rajput family in Bhabhaura village, located in the Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh. His father, Ram Badan Singh, and his mother, Gujarati Devi, were farmers by profession. Since his childhood, Rajnath Singh was deeply influenced by the ideology of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which played a significant role in shaping his beliefs and values.
Education
After receiving his primary education from a local school in his village, Rajnath Singh went on to pursue higher studies. He obtained a Master’s degree in Physics from Gorakhpur University. Throughout his formative years, he remained a steadfast advocate of RSS ideology and became a member of the organization at the young age of 13. Before his foray into politics, he worked as a Physics lecturer at K.B. Post-Graduate College in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh.
Personal Life
On June 5, 1971, Rajnath Singh tied the knot with Savitri Singh. Together, they have been blessed with two sons and a daughter. Their son, Pankaj Singh, is actively involved in politics and holds the position of a Member of the Legislative Assembly representing Noida, Uttar Pradesh, under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) banner. Rajnath Singh is a devout Hindu, known for his strong religious convictions. Additionally, he is recognized for his soft-spoken demeanor and gentle behavior.
Political Career
In 1974, Rajnath Singh began his political career as the secretary for the Mirzapur unit of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which later transformed into the Bharatiya Janata Party. Shortly after, he assumed the role of District President for the Jana Sangh. In 1980, Singh joined the BJP and became one of its founding members. Four years later, he took on the position of State President for the BJP youth wing and eventually rose to the position of National President in 1988. During this time, he was also elected to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council.
