Sahir Shamshad Mirza (M) is a four-star rank general of the Pakistani Army and awaiting the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee according to the announcement by the government. He currently serves as the commander of the Rawalpindi Corps. The post was formally appointed his post on September 8, 2021.

Sahir Shamshad Mirza (M) is a four-star general with the Pakistani Army and awaiting the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee as announced by the government. He currently serves as the commander of the Rawalpindi Corps. His appointment to the position was on September 8, 2021. Prior to being appointed as the commander of the corps, he had previously been the 34th General Chief, until he was replaced by Azhar Abbas.

Lieutenant Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza was commissioned in the 8th Battalion of the Sind Regiment. His previous assignments included Adjutant General in the General Headquarters until November 2019 and Director General of Military Operations. While with Military Operations, he commanded the 40th Infantry Division in Okra.

Lieutenant Gen Mirza started his career with his regiment, the Sindh Regiment after training at the Pakistan Military Academy and served as director-general for the military operations under the former COAS Raheel Sharif between 2015 and 2018.

Lieutenant Gen Mirza also was in charge of the military operations against militants from North Waziristan and was part of the group that managed talks with Afghanistan.

Additionally, he was a part of the Gilgit-Baltistan Reforms Committee. Following his promotion to Lieutenant General, Mirza was appointed as the Vice Chief of the General Staff in 2018, one year prior to his appointment as the Chief of the General Staff. At present, he serves as the Corps Chief of Staff Rawalpindi and is second on the list of seniority for the selection of generals with four stars.
