Shahnawaz Dahani (born 5 August 1998) is a Pakistani cricketer who made his debut international in the Pakistan national team in the month of November 2021. Dahani made the Twenty20 debut on the 23rd of February 2021 during the 2021 season for the Multan Sultans. Dahani is a right-handed fast-medium bowler who bats right-handed, in the last order.

He comes from the town of Larkana in the province of Sindh. His father didn’t want him to be a professional cricketer. His dream was to become a police officer. His father passed away a few years ago. Shahnawaz Dahani isn’t married.

Early Life

He was born Khawar Khan Dahani, Larkana, and Sindh, Pakistan. He graduated with a B.Com degree prior to pursuing international cricket. In many interviews, he said that his father was not supportive of his decision to take up a cricket career because he wanted him to have the opportunity to work in the government.

Career Life

He used to play cricket in his youth, playing with tape balls at the village level but, following the introduction of the club the Al Shahbaz Cricket Club, it was his first time playing in the first class on November 25, 2019, for Sindh the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2019-2020.

He took part in his first ever time at Twenty20 on the 23rd of February 2021. He joined the Multan Sultans of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021.

Domestic and T20 Franchise Career

He made his debut in the first class on the 25th of November, 2019 for the Sindh cricket team, during the 2019-20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Trophy. The player made his Twenty20 debut on the 23rd of February 2021, playing for Multan Sultans, in 2021’s Pakistan Super League. He joined the team in July 2022. accepted to the Jaffna Kings for the third edition of the Lanka Premier League.

International Career

The month of March 2021 was when Dahani received a place on the Pakistan Test team for their series against Zimbabwe. On June 20, 2021, Dahani was selected for the Pakistan Test team in their match against West Indies. On September 20, 2021, the player was selected for the Pakistan One Day International (ODI) team in their match with New Zealand.

In the same year, in the month of November, he was chosen as one of the three reserve players for Pakistan’s team of the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. On November 20, 2021, he received a spot as a member of the Pakistan Twenty20 International (T20I) team for their match against Bangladesh. The player made his T20I debut on the 22nd of November 2021, representing Pakistan against Bangladesh the national cricket team.
