Early Life
Shetty is a native of Mangalore, Karnataka in a Tulu native Bunt family. Parents Sunanda Shetty, and Surendra Shetty are both manufacturers of water caps with tamperproof seals for the medical industry. Shetty is Shamita Shetty’s older sister. In 1991, following the completion of her tenth-grade exams, Shetty began her career as a model in a Limca commercial on television. She later was featured in a variety of commercials and commercials, after which she was offered film roles. Shetty was able to continue her modeling career until she became an actor.
Education
Shetty attended Chembur’s St. Anthony’s Girls High School and Matunga’s Poddar College. She was the volleyball team captain as well as an experienced Bharatanatyam dancer.

Personal Life
After having worked together with Akshay Kumar on Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Shetty began dating Kumar on the set of Insaaf (1997) in 1997, after he had ended a relationship with actor Raveena Tandon. Shetty was open regarding her relationship with Kumar. Shetty spoke out about her relationship with Kumar. Indian news reported that Shetty was engaged and claimed that Kumar was looking for Shetty to stop filming and get married.
Shetty was adamant she did not have plans to get married. The couple split in 2000 while filming Dhadkan. Then, in February of 2009, Shetty was married to Raj Kundra, with whom she co-owned the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket team Rajasthan Royals. They tied the knot on November 22nd, 2009. Shetty had one son on the 21st of May 2012. The couple had another baby girl on February 15, 2020, via surrogacy.
