She was born into the same Hindu Bengali family in Murshidabad, West Bengal but she was raised in Kota, Rajasthan, her father was an electrical engineer. He also worked for the Nuclear Power Corporation of India.

At the age of four at the age of 4, she began developing a desire to sing and began studying the art of music. Shreya graduated from Atomic Energy Central School No.4, Rawatbhata. She was awarded the sub-junior category “All India Light Vocal Competition in New Delhi in 1995. Her husband’s name is Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya.

Career

Ganraj Rangi Nachato is a re-creation of a Marathi track originally performed by Lata Mangeshkar Ghoshal’s debut song ever recorded. A 14-track album Bendhechhi Beena, her debut studio album, came out on January 1, 1998.

Her previous albums comprised Mukhor Porag, Ekti Katha (1999), and O Tota Pakhi Re (2000). Ghoshal recorded Rupasi Raate, a studio album in Bengali (2002). Ghoshal released albums featuring religious songs such as Banomali Re (2002) and Krishna Bina Ache Ke later (2007).
