Sohail Salim Abdul Rashid Khan, born on December 20, 1970, is an Indian actor, writer, film director, and producer who primarily works in the Hindi film industry. He is the sibling of well-known actors Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan and has an older sister named Alvira Khan Agnihotri. Sohail Khan also runs his own production company called Sohail Khan Productions.

Early Life

Sohail Khan was born in Bombay (present-day Mumbai) to Salim Khan, a screenwriter, and Sushila Charak, who later changed her name to Salma Khan. His father’s side of the family is Muslim and hails from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, while his mother is of Maharashtrian descent. Sohail’s stepmother is actress Helen. He has two older brothers, Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan, the latter of whom was married to the actress, VJ, and host Malaika Arora.

Education

Sohail Khan’s mother is of Maharashtrian descent, and his father’s family is Muslim and based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Actress Helen is his stepmother and the second wife of Salim Khan. Sohail’s older brother, Arbaaz Khan, was previously married to actor, VJ, and host Malaika Arora. Sohail has two sisters – Arpita Khan, who is married to actor Aayush Sharma, and Alvira Khan, who is married to Bollywood filmmaker Atul Agnihotri. Sohail Khan completed his schooling at St. Stanislaus High School.

Personal Life

Sohail Khan was married to Seema Sajdeh, a Punjabi Hindu, from 1998 until 2022. The couple had an Arya Samaj wedding ceremony before their nikkah. They have two sons named Nirvan and Yohan, who were born through surrogacy and are also sometimes referred to as Aslam Khan. Nirvana was born in 2000, while Yohan was born in June 2011.

Career

Sohail Khan began his career in the film industry as a producer and director. He made his directorial debut with the 1997 action thriller film Auzaar, which starred his brother Salman and Sanjay Kapoor. Following that, he directed both of his brothers Salman and Arbaaz in the films Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998) and the less successful Hello Brother (1999) under his previous banner “G.S. Entertainment”.

In 2002, he wrote, produced, directed, and made his acting debut in the film Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, which received average box office returns. He then appeared in several more films, but none of them were commercially successful. His first commercial success as an actor came with the film Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? (2005), in which he co-starred with his brother Salman Khan. He also wrote the story, produced, and starred in the multi-starrer Fight Club – Members Only, which, unfortunately, did not perform well at the box office.
