Sohan Lal was a renowned choreographer from yesterday. He was the mentor of the renowned Bollywood choreographer from Bollywood in the 1980s, Saroj Khan who made Madhuri Dixit into a dancer. He was awarded the title of Master B. Sohanlal in Bollywood and has been in the business from the end of 1950 until the 1970s for more than two decades. He was born on 20 November 1920.

He has taught some remarkable dance moves to Vyjayanthimala among them including Madhumati and Jewel Thief. He was widely recognized as an expert in Kathak. As a choreographer, he’s famous for his work in films such as Jewel Thief, Hare Raama Hare Krishna, Madhumati, Taj Mahal, Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Arzoo, Kajal, Guide, Kala Sona, Mera Saya Rafoo Chakkar, and Bobby.

Education

He has a degree in English Literature and a Post Graduate Diploma in Web Design. he was a student at Saint Xaviers’ College Thumba.

Career

The star gained fame in 2006 when he made his Television production “Neermathalathinte Pookkal” adapted from one of the short stories written by Malayalam author Kamala Surayya who was earlier known as Madhavikutty and Kamala Das. The film was broadcast by Amrita TV and brought him praise from critics and awards.

He began his professional career as a part-time producer assistant and scriptwriter from 1994 to 2001 for Doordarshan and then was later associated with all the major Kerala T.V channels which included Asianet, India vision, Jeevan T.V, and Kairali T.V. Presently, he is employed at Amritha Television as Senior Program Producer and Promo In-Charge.

Death

Sohan went to Mumbai’s Guru Nanak Hospital on 17 June 2020 following breathing issues. He passed away from cardiac arrest at 3:00 am on July 3, 2020. Sohan was 71 years old at the time of her death. age at the date when she died. Sohan is laid to rest at a graveyard located in Malad, Mumbai by her family around 7 am.
