Steve Harvey, an American comedian, and producer, is a multi-faceted entertainer. Harvey began his career as an actor and comedian. His television and film debuts happened almost simultaneously, which is interesting. His flagship show, “The Steve Harvey Show,” which ran from 1996 to 2002, was what made him famous.
He became a household name with the show, which earned him immense popularity. The show was followed by a series of shows including ‘The Steve Harvey Morning Show and the ‘Steve Talk Show’. Harvey has been honored with five Daytime Emmy Awards, 14 NAACP Image Awards, and a total of 15 Daytime Emmy Awards over the years.
Childhood and Early Life
He was born Broderick Steven Harvey in Welch West Virginia on January 17, 1957. He was the son of Jesse Harvey (US) and Eloise Vera (US). His father, Jesse Harvey, was a coal miner.
When he was young, the Harveys moved to Cleveland, Ohio. He attended Glenville High School for his initial education. After graduating from Glenville High School in 1974, he attended Kent State University as well as West Virginia University. He was a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity.
Family and Personal Life
He has been married three times. Marcia Harvey was his first wife. He had twin daughters with her and one son. Mary Shackelford was his second wife. Harvey married Marjorie Bridges two years after his divorce from Shackelford.

Career
Steve Harvey was an autoworker and carpet cleaner before he started his comedy career. On October 8, 1985, Harvey performed his first comedy act at Hilarities Comedy Club, in Cleveland, Ohio. Harvey took part in the Second Annual Johnnie Walker National Comedy Search in 1990. Harvey’s stint in the talent search earned him the opportunity to host the music TV program, “It’s Showtime at the Apollo”.

The Steve Harvey Show
Harvey made the decision to pursue other projects in 2001. Harvey wanted to end the series after the fifth season. However, the WB network insisted that he film the sixth season of 13 episodes.
