Sushant Singh Rajput (21 January 1986 14 June 2020) was an Indian actor well-known for his roles as a character actor in Hindi cinema. He was part of a variety of popular commercially successful Hindi films like M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016), Kedarnath (2018), and Chhichhore (2019). Because of his contribution to the field of film, he won an award called a Screen Award and was nominated for the Filmfare Awards on three occasions. He was featured on Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list twice since 2017.
Rajput started an acting career following abandoning his engineering degree at the Delhi College of Engineering and beginning his career in the theatre business in Mumbai. The actor went on to be featured in Hindi television serials. His first show of the season was the romance drama Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil (2008) and then he was cast as the lead on the soap-opera Pavitra Rishta (2009-2011).
Sushant was born on the 21st of January, 1987 in Patna, Bihar, as the son of Usha Singh and Krishna Kumar Singh. His father was an engineer (now retired) in the Bihar State Handloom Corporation in Patna. He was the eldest Sibling of four sisters, and was referred to as “Gulshan”. The older sister “Mitu Singh” is a state-level cricketer.
In his early years, the school he attended was “St. Karen High School” situated in Patna. Following the death of his mother in 2002, the family relocated to Delhi and he finished his education through the “Kulanchi Hansraj Model School”.

Rajput’s relationships with his family have attracted the media’s attention for a long time. in 2011, Rajput made a public announcement to propose to Pavitra Rishta’s co-star and actress Ankita Lohhande at a nationwide television broadcast on the dancing program Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa;
Both of them were part of the show as contestants. The couple started dating following their first encounter during the shoot of Pavitra Rishta in which they were given the role of the husband and wife of one.
Career as a Television Actor
The story of Sushant’s life is also a film on its own. When he was in college, he began taking ballet classes with Shaimak Davarak dance classes. After a few weeks after that, he began taking Acting classes with the theatre director “Barry John” and enjoyed the experience. In the fourth year of his engineering degree, He made the choice to pursue a career in the field of art and performance and decided to leave the college.
After leaving his engineering career, he moved to Mumbai and was able to appear in “Dhoom Again” a song starring Aishwarya Rai in the Dhoom 2 movie and also her final performance in the Commonwealth Games in the year 2006. He was offered a variety of odd jobs and part in the process of starting. He also joined Nadira Babbar’s theater company “E.K. Jute” and was a member for two two-and-a-half years in the group.

While in college, Sushant Singh Rajput enrolled himself in Shiamak Davar’s dance classes. Inspired by the other students from dancing classes, Sushant enrolled in the drama classes of Barry John to learn how to act.

On June 14, 2020, Rajput age 34 died, hanging from the ceiling fan of his house located in Bandra, Mumbai. The deceased had been reported to have displayed signs of depression in clinical form as well as bipolar disorders.
According to reports, the Mumbai Police commenced an investigation and concluded that the death was considered to be suicide. The postmortem report states that the reason for the death could be “asphyxia due to hanging,” and described it as a “clear case of suicide.”
