Sushmita Sen was born in Hyderabad, India on 19 November 1975 to a Bengali Brahmin family. She finished her education at Air Force Silver School, Delhi. At the time of her childhood, her life was quite different from an average girl. She preferred spending time with boys. Her English was not yet fluent until the age of 16 when she was able to master the English language.

Career

She is an English Honours Graduate. When she was just 19 when she was in the year 1994, she was awarded the title ‘Femina India Miss Universe’, and earned the ability to compete in Miss Universe. In the same year, she also won the Miss Universe title and became the first Indian to win this award. In 1996 she began her acting career with Dastak.

Years since she appeared in numerous films like Sirf Tum (1999), Bibi No. 1 (1999), Hindustan Ki Kasam (1999), Filhaal (2002), Aankhen (2002), Samay: When Time Strikes (2003), Main Hoon Na (2004), Dulha Mil Gaya (2010), Nirbaak (2015), etc.
