Early Life

Trisha Krishan was born Krishnan the elder brother of Uma from Chennai (then also known as Madras) to the Tamil Palakkad Iyer family. She attended the Matriculation Sacred Heart School located in Church Park, Chennai, and then took the Master of Business Administration (BBA) course at the Ethiraj College for Women (Chennai). She began modeling and was featured in a variety of commercials on television and in print.

The year 1999 was the year she took home her first prize in the “Miss Salem” beauty pageant as well as later in the same year, she won the Miss Chennai contest. She also won an award at Miss India 2001 pageant’s “Beautiful Smile” award. She eats a vegetarian diet Trisha aspired to be a criminal psychologist at first but she was adamant about acting because she was determined to finish her studies first.

Trisha lives in Chennai with her grandmother and mother. Her father passed away in October 2012. Trisha is fluent with her father in English, Hindi, Tamil, and French. She is a vegetarian. mother, Uma Krishnan was offered a variety of roles by various Tamil film actors and makers, such as Kamal Hasaan, but turned her down because she was determined to focus on her career.

She portrayed Jaanu’s spouse in Rajinikanth’s film Petta. Trisha was awarded numerous accolades for her portrayal of Jaanu in 1996 and was awarded best actress at Filmfare Awards South, SIIMA Awards, Edison Awards, Norway Tamil Film Festival Awards, and Ananda Vikatan Film Awards.
