Plot

In the year 1979, Venkata Chalapathy practices black magic in his house in the village of Rudravanam. However, an angry mob accuses him of causing the mysterious deaths of children in the village. The mob sets his house on fire, resulting in the tragic deaths of Venkata Chalapathy and his wife. Before their demise, Chalapathy’s wife curses the entire village, predicting its destruction in the twelfth year.

Fast forward to 1991, Surya returns to his hometown Rudravanam with his mother and a friend to attend a festival. However, they discover that the village is under lockdown due to a villager’s death at the temple, sparking fear of the curse. The village priest imposes an eight-day lockdown, prohibiting anyone from entering or leaving the village and forbidding any religious rituals to take place during this period.

The captivating visuals of the fictional Rudravanam village were brought to life through the stunning landscapes of Araku and Paderu, located in the scenic surroundings of the erstwhile Visakhapatnam district. Director Karthik Varma skillfully utilized these picturesque locations while crafting the screenplay for the film. Furthermore, the haunted house and the sarpanch’s house were meticulously built sets in Hyderabad.

Music

The film score and soundtrack are composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. The first song “Nachavule Nachavule” was released on 24 March 2023, while the second song “Kalallo” was released on 17 April 2023.
