Production

Initially, in June 2019, the film was given the working title of VSP 33, and it was announced that Amala Paul would play the female lead. However, later on, Amala Paul opted out of the project, and Megha Akash was brought in as her replacement. Subsequently, the film’s final title, “Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir,” was unveiled.

The shooting of the film took place in the scenic location of Kodaikanal. S. Essaki Durai produced the film under the banner of Chandaraa Arts. Vetrivel Mahendran handled the cinematography, while John Abraham took charge of the editing. The first look poster for the film was released on 15 January 2020, followed by the teaser on 4 March 2021. The trailer for the film was unveiled on 15 May 2023.

Reception

In his review for The Times of India, Logesh Balachandran gave the film a rating of 2.5/5 and noted that while the performances by Vijay Sethupathi, Vivek, Megha Akash, Similarly, K. Ram Kumar from Dinamani also gave the film a rating of 2.5/5 and acknowledged the director’s good intention of addressing the issues faced by refugees but felt that a stronger focus on the screenplay could have made it a better film.
