Birth & Early Life

Yash Dayal was born on 13 December 1997 to a middle-class Hindu family in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. At the age of 5, Yash began playing cricket and continued to pursue it passionately. By the age of 15, he began teaching cricket at the Madan Malviya Cricket Academy in Allahabad.

Although he was initially an extra bowler in the Under-19 team, he never got the opportunity to play a single match. However, his hard work and dedication eventually paid off, and he was selected for the Under-23 team. The turning point in Yash’s career occurred when he took 8 wickets against Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy, leading to a significant change in his life.

Education

Yash Dayal is not only a skilled cricketer but also a highly entertaining player on the field. Despite being a professional cricketer, Yash has also pursued formal education. He completed his primary schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya New Cantt Allahabad School and later enrolled at Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology, and Sciences, where he earned his degree.

Domestic Career

In 2011, Yash Dayal played for the SGFI Under-16 team, and subsequently, he represented the Uttar Pradesh Under-21 and Under-23 teams. On 21 September 2018, Yash made his debut one-day match for Uttar Pradesh against Chhattisgarh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and claimed 1 wicket for 41 runs. Later, on 1 November 2018, he made his debut in Ranji cricket for the Uttar Pradesh team against Goa, where he took 2 wickets for 74 runs in the match.

Indian Premier League (IPL)

Yash Dayal was acquired by Gujarat Titans (GT) for Rs 3.2 crores during the 2022 Mega-auction for the 2022 IPL season, which was significantly higher than his base price of Rs 20 lakhs. He made his debut in the IPL on 13 April 2022, playing for the Gujarat Titans against the Rajasthan Royals.
