Plot
Akira, portrayed by Raai Laxmi, works as a sound designer and finds herself wrongfully accused and arrested. Despite maintaining her innocence, she is taken into custody. In an attempt to complete a Hollywood project centered around capturing the sounds of rare birds, Akira visits a picturesque hill station. It is during her stay there that she stumbles upon a Cinderella costume in an antique shop and decides to take it home.
Simultaneously, the wealthy Ramya, played by Sakshi Agarwal, meets a tragic end, and her grieving mother becomes the target of a vengeful ghost. As investigations proceed, a man is apprehended at the police station for assaulting Sandra, Ramya’s mother. It is at this moment that Akira coincidentally crosses paths with Sandra, who is taken aback by her presence.

The project was unveiled by Vinoo Venkatesh, a debutant director who had previously served as an associate director under S. J. Surya. According to reliable sources, filming commenced in October 2018. Vinoo Venketesh narrated the script to esteemed actresses Nayanthara, Trisha, Amy Jackson, Hansika Motwani, Aishwarya Rajesh, Manisha Yadav, Anjali, Regina Cassandra, and Raai Laxmi.

Critical Reception
Cinderella garnered a mixed reception from critics. While the editing and effective use of jump scares were appreciated, the screenplay and plot faced criticism. In a predominantly negative review for Critic Rants, Gordon McIntyre expressed conflicting sentiments towards the film. He acknowledged appreciating the movie’s stereotypical treatment but simultaneously despised it for the very same reasons.
