Dawood Ibrahim, born on 26 December 1955, is a notorious figure in India, known as an influential mafia gangster, drug kingpin, and wanted terrorist hailing from Dongri, Mumbai. He is believed to be the leader of the Indian organized crime syndicate D-Company, which he established in Mumbai during the 1970s. Ibrahim is wanted for numerous crimes, including murder, extortion, targeted killings, drug trafficking, and acts of terrorism.

Childhood & Early Life

Born on December 27, 1955, Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar hails from the town of Khed in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, India. His father, Ibrahim Kaskar, served as a head constable in the Mumbai Police, while his mother, Amina, was a housewife. The family later relocated to Dongri, a predominantly Muslim neighborhood in Mumbai.

Growing up in a lower-middle-class household, Dawood harbored ambitious aspirations from an early age. Academics did not capture his interest, leading him to drop out of school and commence earning a livelihood at a tender age.

Personal Life

Dawood Ibrahim is married to Mehjabeen Shaikh, and together they have four children. Their daughter Mahrukh entered marital bliss with Junaid Miandad, the son of renowned Pakistani cricketer Javed Miandad. Criminal Career

During his teenage years, Dawood Ibrahim began engaging in fraudulent activities, theft, and robberies. He eventually joined the gang led by local gangster Baashu Dada, who was associated with the organized crime syndicate in the area. In the late 1970s, Dawood decided to part ways with this gang and formed his criminal organization alongside his elder brother, Shabir Ibrahim Kaskar. Tragically, Shabir was later killed by the rival Pathan gang.

Leaving Dawood as the sole leader of his gang, which came to be known as the D-Company. During his time in Dubai, Dawood further expanded his criminal empire, receiving assistance from his trusted second-in-command, Chhota Rajan. With the combined efforts of their gang, the D-Company’s ranks grew to include over 5,000 members. By the early 1990s, the organization generated massive revenue, amounting to tens of crores of rupees annually.
