Born on 26 May 1965 in the village of Gosa in Porbandar, Gujarat, Dilip Joshi embarked on his journey as an actor. After completing his Bachelor of Commerce degree, he discovered his passion for acting while still in college and began performing in theater productions. Dilip’s talent and dedication led to him receiving the prestigious INT (Indian National Theater) Best Actor award not once, but twice, cementing his reputation as an exceptional performer.


Dilip Joshi completed his primary education in Gujarat.  Following his primary education, Dilip Joshi made his way to Mumbai, where he enrolled in the esteemed Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics. Dilip completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the college. During his time at Narsee Monjee, he actively engaged in a college theater group, honing his acting skills.

In 1989, Dilip Joshi embarked on his acting career with his portrayal of Ramu in the film “Maine Pyar Kiya.” Since then, he has made appearances in various Gujarati dramas, including the notable “Bapu Tame Kamaal Kari” alongside Sumeet Raghavan and Amit Mistry. This trio is well-known for their television series “Shubh Mangal Savadhan.


Dilip Joshi’s acting journey began in 1989 with his debut role as Ramu in the film “Maine Pyar Kiya.” He went on to appear in several other notable movies, including “Hun Hunshi Hunshilal Hunshilal” (1992), “Hum Aapke Hain Koun” (1994), “Yash” (1996), “Sar Aankhon Par” (1998), and “Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani” (2000).

In 1995, Dilip made his television debut with the serial “Kabhi Yeh Kabhi Woh Vasu.” He later went on to work in various television series, including “Yeh Duniya Hai Rangeen,” “Shubh Mangal Savadhan,” “Meri Biwi Wonderful,” and “Sewalal Mewalal.”

However, a significant turning point in his career came in 2008 when he was cast in the role of Jethalal Gada in the SAB television show “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.” The show resonated well with Hindi-speaking audiences and has been continuously airing since its inception in 2008, leaving a lasting impact.
