Srinivasan, Kamal Haasan’s father was a lawyer. Rajalakshmi Srinivasan, his mother was a housewife. Charuhasan and Chandrahasan Charuhasan and Chandrahasan, two members of the same family, are actors. Nalini Raghu the younger sister is an Indian ballet dancer. Personal Life
Kamal Haasan was born on November 7, 1954, to an attorney for criminals named D. Srinivasan and his devotional wife Rajalakshmi. Both belong to the Tamil Iyengar caste(Kamal is an apologist and a well-known atheist) located in the village of Paramakudi located in the Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu.
He is the youngest of three brothers, the others are Charuhasan as well as Chandrahasan. Kamal’s elder sibling is Nalini. She got married to a scientist and moved to Mumbai. Chauhan is an award-winning actor in the National Film Awards.
His niece Suhasini was also named a National Film Award Winner and is married to director Mani Ratnam, who collaborated with Kamal Haasan in 1987’s Nayagan. Chandra Haasan has appeared as a producer on some of Kamal’s films and is also the executive director of He’s production company at home, Rajkamal International.
Career
He started his acting career as a child actor at the age of five years old. He received the President’s medal for his first feature film Kalathur Kannamma. Haasan has the distinction of being the only Indian actor to be rewarded with 18 Filmfare awards as well as three National awards for the best actor. He is the only actor in seven films that have been nominated for the Oscars.

Controversies | His film ‘Hey Ram’ faced protests from political parties as they considered that the film portrayed Mahatma Gandhi negatively. He was forced to change the name of his film Sandiyar to Virumandi’ in 2004 after Pudhiya Tamizhagam political party said that the film title could create caste-related violence.
