Early Life

Despite his father’s desire for him to pursue engineering, Kumar Vishwas had a different passion. From a young age, he displayed a keen interest in literature, leading him to pursue post-graduation in Hindi literature. His dedication and academic excellence earned him a gold medal in this field. In 2001, he obtained his Ph.D. degree, focusing his research on the topic of ‘Lokchetna Mein Kauravi Lokgeet’ and receiving recognition for his work in the form of an award.

He attended Lala Ganga Sahay School for his primary education. His father, Chandra Pal Sharma, worked as a lecturer at R.S.S. Degree College in Pilkhuwa, while his mother’s name is Rama Sharma.

He is happily married to Manju Sharma, who shares his passion for Hindi literature and is also a lecturer in the same field. The couple has been blessed with two daughters named Kuhu and Agrata. Kumar and Manju first crossed paths during their college years, and they tied the knot soon after Kumar completed his master’s degree.

Career

During his Ph.D. journey, Kumar made a significant decision to change his name to “Kumar Vishwas” to separate his identity from his caste. In 1994, he embarked on his career as a lecturer in Rajasthan. Subsequently, he began teaching Hindi literature at Lala Lajpat Rai College. Kumar Vishwas gained recognition through his widely acclaimed comedy show KV Sammelan, which premiered on September 29, 2018, and was broadcasted on the Aaj Tak channel.

Career as a Politician

In 2012, Kumar Vishwas became actively involved in Indian politics by joining the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as a volunteer. He later became a member of the party’s National Executive. Kumar had a long-standing acquaintance with the party’s founder, Arvind Kejriwal, dating back to 2005. Before his involvement with the AAP, Kumar actively supported Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement in India in 2011. In 2014, he took a step further by contesting in the Lok Sabha election.
