Koduri Srisaila Shri Rajamouli, a screenwriter and director from India, was born on 10 October 1973. He is best known for his epic, action, and fantasy films. He is known as the highest-paid Indian director and highest-grossing Indian director.

Baahubali 2 and 3: The Beginning (2015) by Rajamouli is the highest-grossing film in India. RRR (2022 is also included). These films were also among the most expensive Indian films made at the time they were released.

Family

S. Rajamouli was raised in a Telugu filmy home. His father K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, a well-known director and writer, and his mother Raja Nandini are both famous. Kanchi Rajamouli is his brother and he is also an actor. Siva Datta, his uncle, had made several films. M.M. Keeravani, Kalyani Malik, and S Rajamouli are cousins.

Rajamouli married Rama Rajamouli who is the sister of singer Keeravani. Rama was a single mother to a child when Rajamouli proposed. Their two children are S.S.Karthikeya S.S. Mayookha and their son. Rama Rajamouli manages Rajamouli’s finances and family affairs. She is also a customer of Rajamouli movies.

Early Life

Koduri Srisaila Rajamouli was born on 10 October 1973 to a Telugu couple from Kovur, Andhra Pradesh V. Vijayendra Prasad & Raja Nandini. At the time of his birth, his parents were living in Amareshwara Camp in Raichur district in Karnataka state. They are dedicated devotees to Lord Shiva. Rajamouli was the result of a dream his mother had when she visited Srisailam, a pilgrimage site. He was thus named Srisaila Srirajamouli. He has one sibling.

Education

S S Rajamouli was a 4th-class Kovvur student who continued his studies to Intermediate in Eluru. He was also an actor as a child, playing the role of Lord Krishna in a film made by his father. He was also an assistant to one in theater AVM recording. For six years, he worked as an assistant for his father. He used to tell his stories to several administrators.

Personal Life

In 2001, Rajamouli wed Rama, his sister-in-law Keeravani. Rama was a costume designer in many Rajamouli films after their marriage. Rama’s child from her previous marriage, Karthikeya was adopted by him. They also have a daughter Mayookha, an adopted daughter. Karthikeya married Pooja Prasad (niece of Telugu actor Jagapathibabu).

Career

Rajamouli began his film career in film as an apprentice to veteran film editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. He worked with Rajamouli for six months. Rajamouli recalls that even in his 20s, he didn’t know how to plan for his future. My father used to scold me for not doing anything. To escape his constant nagging, I joined the film industry.

Slowly, I discovered my love for direction. For a short time, he worked as an assistant director at AVM Recording Theater in Chennai. For a time, he was also an assistant director to Kranthi Kul. He then assisted Vijayendra Prasad, his father, for six years.

Although he started writing for films, he was constantly disappointed in the way other directors executed his stories. He became frustrated as a writer and decided to become a director in order to bring his vision of writing onto the screen.
