Career
He only played in one game and was removed from the squad during the first test however, when Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned from the team, he accused Mohammed Azharuddin of ill-treatment. Ganguly played his first Test game against England.
He was playing against England along with Rahul Dravid during the third test in the series played at Lord Cricket Stadium ground. Ganguly scored a tonne during the test, but England took the first test in the series of three matches. India did not bat and the match ended in an unfinished draw.
The duo, together with Sachin Tendulkar, scored an impressive 255 points on the board. At the time of the match, the most runs in a partnership that was scored by India against any other team and also on a foreign wicket.
