Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was born on 23 January 1897 in Cuttack, Orissa and he died on 18 August 1945, in a hospital in Taiwan after suffering from burn injuries sustained in a plane crash.

Despite the controversial aspects of his collaboration, Bose’s socialist policies and determined approach to achieving independence remain notable. Education

Subhas Chandra Bose, like his siblings, received his early education at the Protestant European School, which is now known as Stewart High School, in Cuttack. He pursued his undergraduate studies at Presidency College. At the age of 16, he was deeply influenced by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and Ramakrishna, having read their works. His parents sent him to the University of Cambridge in England to further his education.

Azad Hind Fauz or Indian National Army (INA)

The establishment and efforts of the Azad Hind Fauj, also known as the Indian National Army (INA).  The Second World War marked a significant development in the fight for India’s liberation. Rash Behari Bose, an Indian revolutionary residing in Japan, formed the Indian Independence League with the support of Indians living in Southeast Asian countries. The league aimed to create the Indian National Army by enlisting Indian prisoners of war and Indians settled in Southeast Asia, with the objective of freeing India from British rule following Japan’s defeat of the British army and the occupation of Southeast Asian nations.

After his return to India, Subhas Chandra Bose became influenced by Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology and joined the Indian National Congress. Additionally, in 1924, Bose held the position of CEO of the Calcutta Municipal Corporation during the tenure of Mayor Das. The Indian National Congress, under the leadership of figures like Bose, played a dominant role in the early years. After India’s independence and has since alternated power with other political parties. While the party has been more successful in the northeastern and northern states. Its performance in most of the southern states has been relatively weaker.
